Wiki classroom provides a learning platform that students can relate to via technology, while helping to close the potential communication and generational gaps between teacher and students. Wiki facilitates multi-pathways to learning, by using multi-modal literacy creating engagement though relevance and meaning. Using multi-modal literacy enhances neuroplasticity, providing new experiences in multiple ways creating new neural connections while enhancing learning (Doidge, 2015).
1.2 Understand how students learn
Students and teachers are able to create profiles of themselves so that a deeper understanding of one another can be achieved. This will create an environment that will form interest and help build re-pour and positive relationships. Creating a task each week within Wiki for example, could be that students add information to their own profiles regarding their interests for example, “what they did on the weekend”, monitoring of the Wiki and blogs enhances the deeper understandings of each student on a social and emotional level, while being able to monitor academic engagement and participation (Teachersfirst.com, 2015).

3.1 Establish challenging learning goals
Teachers are able to learn more about their students and how they learn via the Wiki platform, for the enhanced ability of creating individual learning plans and challenging learning goals. (Using activity 1 can be incorporate within student’s profiles on Wiki). With the monitoring of engagement and participation through Wiki, teachers are able to enhance the difficulty level of students learning goals, as some students may find some tasks difficult, while others may fine tasks easy (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
Wiki can monitor engagement and participation. Wiki has built in monitoring systems outlining who accessed at what times. This will allow the teacher to assist with extra support via scaffolding learning and a more individualised learning plan with challenging learning goals. Wiki allows students to create a growth mindset and a “can do” attitude via greater teacher student contact and improved motivation (Dweck, 2015, Fuller, 2015).
3.5 Use effective classroom communication
Wiki has privacy settings for safe learning environment. Wiki can be accessed 24hrs a day allowing for learning to continue outside of school hours. Students are able to ask questions anytime outside of school, while teachers are able to provide support promptly by providing students with formative assessment, and constructive feedback. Wiki allows for open communication with students and parents to assist with all learning needs and concerns (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
All classroom communication can be embedded into Wiki so that students can view for example, class rules, class values, Wiki technical assistance, while encouraging working in collaboration and to support students to become independent learners (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
4.1 Support student participation
Wiki classroom is a great tool for communicating with all diversities for example, physical disabilities (access to the classroom), remote areas where accessing schooling is difficult for example, Indigenous communities and remote farming. Support staff are able to gain access to the class Wiki for the monitoring and support for special needs. Also it can be used to set tasks that can be completed outside of school (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
Teachers are able to set group work activities, while monitoring participation and engagement, and encouraging collaborative learning and the facilitation of higher order thinking skills via content evaluation and synthesis (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
Because Wiki can be accessed 24hrs a day, provides flexibility for students to complete tasks, while utilizing and facilitating time management skills (Teachersfirst.com, 2015 & K, 2015).
